College to offer M.Phil, Ph.D

The Periyar Government Arts College here is all set to start several M.Phil and Ph.D. programmes from the coming academic year (2014 - 2015).

In a statement released here, principal V.N. Viswanathan stated that based on its strength of infrastructure, staff and resourcefulness the college was upgraded to Grade I in May 2014.

The institution is now preparing for the second cycle of accreditation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. The accreditation process would go on from January 8 to 10.

The college is running 14 undergraduate and 11 post-graduate courses. The Higher Education Department has given concurrence to start new UG and PG courses besides offering M.Phil and Ph.D on full-time and part-time basis.

The courses and programmes to be started are as follows: B.Sc in visual communication and PG courses such as M.A (public administration) and MSW (Master of Social Works).

Research programmes: M.Phil (both full time and part time) in commerce, economics, computer
 science, zoology, physics and micro-biology.

Ph.D programmes (both full time and part time) in microbiology physics, zoology and history. The applications for the above courses and the programmes could be obtained from the college.

தாய்ப்பால் வார விழா-“தாய்ப்பால் ஊட்டல் வாழ்க்கையை வெல்வதற்கான வழி”

   கடலூர், பெரியார் கலைக் கல்லூயில் நாட்டு நலப்பணித்திட்ட மாணவியர்கள் சார்பில் தாய்ப்பாலின் அவசியம் பற்றிய விழிப்புணர்வு நிகழ்ச்சி 07.08.2014 அன்று காலை 11.00 மணியளவில் நடைபெற்றது.

       பெண் குழந்தைகளுக்கு நம் நாட்டில் பாலூட்டுவதில் கூட பாரபட்சம் காட்டுகிறார்கள். பாலூட்டும் நிலை கிராமங்களில் அதிகமாகவும் நகர்ப்புறங்களில் இந்நிலை வெகுவாக குறைந்து வருகின்றது. நம் நாட்டில் குறிப்பாக பெரு நகரங்களில் தாய்ப்பால் வங்கிகள் செயல்படத்துவங்கியுள்ளது. இந்த வங்கிகளின் மூலமாக தாய்ப்பால் குறைவாக சுரக்கும் பெண்கள் தொற்று நோய்களினால் அவதியுறும் தாய்மார்கள் பிறந்தவுடன் தாயினை இழந்த குழந்தைகள் பயன்பெறுகிறார்கள். இதுபோன்ற தாய்பால் வங்கிகள் மிகவும் பின்தங்கிய  வறுமையில் வாழும் தாய்மார்கள் அதிகம் வசிக்கும் இக்கடலூர் மாவட்டத்தில் தொடங்க வேண்டும் என்ற கோரிக்கையை முன்வைத்து விழாவிற்கு தலைமையேற்ற கல்லூரி முதல்வர் முனைவர்.வ.நா.விஸ்வநாதன் அவர்கள் சொற்பொழிவாற்றினார்.

    அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து விழாவிற்கு சிறப்புரையாற்றிய இளைஞர் செஞ்சிலுவை சங்க மாவட்ட ஒருங்கிணைப்பாளரும் பேராசியருமான முனைவர்.கு.நிர்மல்குமார் தாய்ப்பால் குழந்தையின் பசியை மட்டும் போக்கவல்லது அல்ல. அதிலுள்ள உயிர் ஊட்டச்சத்துக்கள் லேக்டோஸ்ää மாவுச்சத்து கொழுப்பு வகைகள் போன்றவை குழந்தையின் வளர்;ச்சிக்கு அவசியம் தேவை. முறைப்படி தாய்மார்கள் தாய்ப்பாலை குழந்தைக்கு புகட்டினால் குழந்தைக்கு ஏற்படும் குறைபாடுகளில் 40மூ அறவே தவிர்க்கலாம். தாய்ப்பாலிலுள்ள அமினோ அமிலங்கள் மூளை வளர்;ச்சிக்கு இன்றியமையாததாகும். இது நோய் எதிர்ப்பு சக்தியை அதிகரிப்பதோடு வயிற்றுப்போக்கு காதில் சீழ்வடிதல் தோல் தொற்று போன்றவை தடுக்கப்படும். குழந்தை பிறந்த ஒரு மணி நேரத்தில் தரும் சீம்பாலால் ஆண்டுக்கு 10 இலட்சம் குழந்தைகள் இறப்பதை தடுப்பதோடு இறப்பு விகிதத்தையும் குறைக்கிறது. 

           தாய்ப்பால் குழந்தைக்கு மட்டும் நன்மை பயப்பதோடு நிறுத்திவிடாமல் தாய்பால் கொடுக்கும் தாய்க்கும் நன்மை பயக்கிறது. மேலும் மார்பக புற்று நோய் சினைப்பை புற்றுநோய் சத்துக்குறைவு போன்ற நோய்கள் வருவதற்கான சாத்தியக்கூறுகள் இல்லை என்பதை பல அறிவியல் ஆராய்ச்சிகள் நிருபிக்கின்றன. இதனால்தான் இவ்வாண்டு உலக தாய்ப்பால் வாரத்தின் மையக்கருத்து “தாய்ப்பால் ஊட்டல் வாழ்க்கையை வெல்வதற்கான வழி” என்பதாகும் என்று தெரிவித்தார்.

            இவ்விழாவில் தாவரவியல் துறைத்தலைவி முனைவர்.கீதாதேவி வரவேற்றார். விழாவின் இறுதியில் கல்லூரியின் நாட்டு நலப்பபணித்திட்ட அலுவலர் பேராசிரியை மா.ஞானாம்பிகை நன்றி கூறினார். இதில் ஏராளமான கல்லூரி மாணவிகள் ஆவலுடன் பங்கேற்று பயன்பெற்றனர்.

Cuddalore Periyar Arts College Students Protests against errors in Tiruvalluvar university results

Recently released results of Tiruvalluvar University are charged to have too many mistakes. While some results have internal mark break up some others don’t have. Some of the students got results published for the papers they had passed in the previous semester. A few others results were declared for the papers they did not have in their course. Students who resorted to strike wanted responsibility to be fixed on those who had committed the mistakes.

They gathered in large numbers in front of the college and raised slogans. Police reached the spot and pacified them. A report from Cuddalore says that students of Periyar Government Arts College here went on a strike for the second consecutive day on Wednesday seeking rectifications of discrepancies that have crept into the 2013 December semester results posted online. The students alleged that the results were jumbled as students who were aiming at good grades had failed. Those who had not taken the examinations were marked “pass” and those who had written the examinations well were marked “fail.” Such anomalies were found across the board, from first year undergraduate courses to final year postgraduate courses. On Tuesday, students of Kandasamy Naidu College for Women here too boycotted classes alleging similar complaint. Two different versions are doing the rounds : the publication of results has been outsourced by Thiruvalluvar University this time on the plea that it was a seasonal task; and certain discontented teachers might have been behind the muddle. Registrar of the university M.Jayakumar told this correspondent that the issue had been blown out of proportion by certain staff members. “The university is not against the student population,” he said.

It was quite normal that the results released online would have permissible error to the extent of 0.01 per cent. For instance, of the total number of results for 8 lakh answer scripts written by 1.75 lakh students from 110 colleges affiliated to the university, the results of only about 2,400 were found faulty. It was a common practice to put up a disclaimer on this score, and the error would be rectified before handing over the mark-sheets (hard copies). Controller of Examinations P. Asokan said that these mistakes could have been committed by students, teachers and the university. On Wednesday alone the mistakes pointed out by 10 colleges, including Tindivanam government college, were corrected. Mr. Asokan termed it “a vindictive act of those who are keen on spoiling the reputation of the university.” There were certain teachers who earlier threatened to boycott the valuation of answer scripts seemed to have become hyperactive to provoke students, without any justification. ONE DAY STATE LEVEL WORKSHOP ON ENTREPRENEURIAL DEVELOPMENT And  INAUGURATION OF EDC – THE FIRST OF ITS KIND IN THE HISTORY OF PERIYAR ARTS COLLEGE, CUDDALORE

　　　　The PG and Research Department of Commerce of Periyar Arts College organized a one day state – level workshop on entrepreneurial development and inaugurated the EDC (Entrepreneur Development Cell) on 13th Feb-2014 in its premises.

　　　　180 students participated in the work shop. Dr. K. MURUGADOSS Head of the Department, welcomed the participants and the dignitaries. Dr. V.N. VISWANATHAN, the Principal, in his presidential address emphasized on the need for self employment which will be a born to the future India. Mr. Rajaganesh, General Manager, District Industries Centre, Cuddalore as the Chief guest, highlighted the government schemes available to an entrepreneur.

　　　　The Key note address was presented by Mr. F.FELIX CLEMENT, Managing Director of MID –Link, Chennai. He spoke on how to become an entrepreneur. He emphasized on the three qualities needed for an entrepreneur viz, Flight balance enterprises and enterprising which make him successful.

　　　　Mr. ASHOK, The President of Medium and Small Enterprises association Cuddalore spoke on avenues open to an entrepreneur. Dr. G.DAMODARAN , Proprietor of Uma Devi Agro and milk products Cuddalore, highlighted on the challenges confronted by an entrepreneur

Rs.50 lakh chemistry lab for Cuddalore Periyar Arts College

Cuddalore:

Environment Minister M.C. Sampath inaugurated a chemistry laboratory built at a cost of Rs. 50 lakh at Periyar Government Arts College here on Saturday (26.10.2013). The Minister reportedly sanctioned the entire amount for construction of the laboratory from his MLA’s Local Area Development Funds. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had taken many initiatives for improving the standard of education. For enhancing skills of students and to help them shine in their career, she had launched the free laptop scheme.

கடலூர் பெரியார் கலைக் கல்லூரியில் 2013-2014 ஆண்டிற்கான மாணவர் சேர்கைக்கான முதல்கட்ட கலந்தாய்வு தொடக்கம்

கடலூர் பெரியார் அரசு கல்லூரியில் மாணவர் சேர்க்கைக்கான முதல் கட்ட கலந்தாய்வு நேற்று தொடங்கியது. கவுன்சிலிங் தொடங்கிய 1 மணி நேரத்தில் கணினி அறிவியல் பாடத்துக்கான சேர்க்கை முடிவடைந்தது.

கலந்தாய்வு:

தமிழகம் முழுவதும் அரசு கலை அறிவியல் கல்லூரிகளில் 2013–14–ம் ஆண்டு மாணவர் சேர்க்கைக்கான கலந்தாய்வு நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. கடலூர் தேவனாம்பட்டினம் பெரியார் கலைக் கல்லூரியிலும் மாணவர் சேர்க்கைக்கான கலந்தாய்வு நேற்று முன்தினம் (24/06/2013) தொடங்கியது. முதல் கட்ட கலந்தாய்வில் முதல் நாளான நேற்று முன்தினம் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள், முன்னாள் ராணுவனத்தினரின் பிள்ளைகள், என்.சி.சி.யில் ‘ஏ‘ சான்றிழ் பெற்ற மாணவ, மாணவிகள் ஆகியோருக்கான கலந்தாய்வு நடைபெற்றது.

இதைத் தொடர்ந்து 2–வது நாளான நேற்று (25/06/2013) காலையில் இதர பிரிவு மாணவர்களுக்கு கணக்கு, கம்ப்யூட்டர் சயின்ஸ், புள்ளியல் ஆகிய பாடங்களுக்கு கலந்தாய்வு நடைபெற்றது. இதில் ஏராளமான மாணவ, மாணவிகள் கலந்துகொண்டனர். கல்லூரி முதல்வர் விஸ்வநாதன் தலைமையிலான ஆசிரியர் குழுவினர் இந்த கலந்தாய்வை நடத்தினர்.

பின்னர் இது குறித்து கல்லூரி முதல்வர் விஸ்வநாதன் அளித்த பேட்டி: 

சிறப்பு பிரிவினர்

கலந்தாய்வை பொறுத்தவரை என்ஜினீயரிங் கல்லூரிகளில் கூட இன்னும் காலியிடங்கள் இருக்கின்றன. ஆனால் கலைக்கல்லூரிகளை பொறுத்தவரை அனைத்து பாட பிரிவுகளிலும் மாணவர் சேர்க்கை நல்ல முறையில் நடைபெற்று வருகிறது. நேற்று முன்தினம் சிறப்பு பிரிவினருக்கான நடைபெற்ற கலந்தாய்வில் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் 6 பேரும், விளையாட்டு வீரர்களுக்கான பிரிவில் 18 பேரும், என்.சி.சி. பிரிவில் ஒருவரும் என மொத்தம் 25 பேர் கலந்துகொண்டனர். முன்னாள் படைவீரர்களின் பிள்ளைகளுக்கான பிரிவில் ஒருவர் கூட கலந்துகொள்ளவில்லை.

இதைத் தொடர்ந்து நேற்று (25/06/2013) புள்ளியியல், கணக்கு, கம்ப்யூட்டர் சயின்ஸ் ஆகிய பாடங்களுக்கு கலந்தாய்வு நடைபெற்றது. இதில் கலந்தாய்வு நடைபெற்ற 1 மணி நேரத்தில் கம்ப்யூட்டர் சயின்ஸ் பாடத்துக்கான மாணவர் சேர்க்கை முடிவடைந்தது. கணக்கு பாடத்துக்கும் ஓரளவு மாணவர்கள் சேர்ந்துள்ளனர்.

புள்ளியில் பாடம்:

புள்ளியல் பாடத்துக்கான கலந்தாய்வில் பகல் 1 மணிவரையில் 4 பேர் மட்டுமே கலந்துகொண்டனர். இதற்கு பள்ளிக்கூடங்களில் புள்ளியில் பாடம் தனி பாடமாக இல்லாததே காரணம். 12–ம் வகுப்பில் கணக்கு பாடத்துடன் சேர்ந்து புள்ளியியல் பாடம் வருகிறது. இதனால் பள்ளியில் கணக்கு பாடம் எடுத்து படிக்கும் மாணவர்கள் கல்லூரிக்கு வரும்போது பெரும்பாலானோர் கணக்கு பாடத்தையே தேர்வு செய்கிறார். திருவள்ளுவர் பல்கலைக்கழகத்தில் புள்ளியியல் பாடம் உள்ள ஒரே கல்லூரி பெரியார் அரசு கல்லூரி தான்.

பெரியார் கல்லூரியில் அனைத்து பாட பிரிவுகளுக்கும் மொத்தம் 900 இடங்கள் உள்ளன. இதில் வணிகவியல் பாடத்துக்கு நிறையபேர் விண்ணப்பித்துள்ளனர். இதற்கு அடுத்ததாக ஆங்கிலபாடத்துக்கும், 3–வதாக கம்ப்யூட்டர் சயின்ஸ் பாடத்துக்கும் மாணவர்கள் விண்ணப்பித்துள்ளனர். இவ்வாறு அவர் கூறினார்.

இயற்பியல்–வேதியியல்:

தொடர்ந்து 3–வது நாளான இன்று(புதன்கிழமை) இயற்பியல், வேதியியல் பாடங்களுக்கும், நாளை(வியாழக்கிழமை) தாவரவியல், விலங்கியல், தொழில்முறை வேதியியல், மைக்ரோ பயாலஜி ஆகிய பாடங்களுக்கும், வருகிற 1–ந் தேதி(திங்கட்கிழமை) வணிகவியல், பி.பி.ஏ. ஆகிய பாடங்களுக்கும், 2–ந் தேதி(செவ்வாய்கிழமை) தமிழ், ஆங்கிலம் ஆகிய பாடங்களுக்கும், 3–ந் தேதி(புதன்கிழமை) பொருளியல், வரலாறு மற்றும் அரசியல் அறிவியல் ஆகிய பாடங்களுக்கும் கலந்தாய்வு நடக்கிறது.

இதை தொடர்ந்து 2–வது கட்ட கலந்தாய்வு வருகிற 8–ந் தேதி முதல் 10–ந் தேதி வரையிலும், 3–வது கட்ட கலந்தாய்வு 18–ந் தேதியும் நடக்கிறது.

கடலூர் பெரியார் கலைக்  கல்லூரியில் சேர மாணவர்கள் ஆர்வத்துடன் விண்ணப்பங்கள் வாங்கிச் செல்கின்றனர். கடலூர் மாவட்டத்தில் கடலூர், சிதம்பரம் மற்றும் விருத்தாசலத்தில் அரசுக் கல்லூரிகள் இயங்கி வருகின்றன. கடந்த காலங்களில் அரசுக் கல்லூரிகளில் சேருவதற்கு கடும் போட்டி நிலவியது. ஆனால், பொறியியல் கல்லூரிகள் காரணமாக அரசுக் கலைக் கல்லூரிகளில் மாணவர்கள் சேர்க்கை குறைந்தது. தற்போது அரசுக் கல்லூரிகளில் மாணவர்கள் சேர்க்கை அதிகரித்து வருகிறது. கடலூர் பெரியார் அரசு கல்லூரியில் வரும் கல்வி ஆண்டுக்கான சேர்க்கைக்கு விண்ணப்பங்கள் கடந்த 9-ம் தேதி முதல் விற்பனை செய்யப்படுகிறது. கடந்த ஆறு நாள்களில் இதுவரை 1,200 விண்ணப்பங்கள் விற்பனை செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

கடலூர் பெரியார் கலைக் கல்லூரியில் மாணவர் சேர்க்கைக்கான விண்ணப்ப விநியோகம் தொடக்கம்

கடலூர்:

    கடலூர்  பெரியார் கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில் விண்ணப்பங்கள் வழங்கும் பணி தொடங்கியது.

     கடலூர் அரசு பெரியார் கலை மற்றும் அறிவியல் கல்லூரியில் இளங்கலை, இளம் அறிவியல் மற்றும் இளம் வணிகவியல் உள்ளிட்ட பாடப் பிரிவுகளில் மாணவ, மாணவிகள் சேர்க்கைக்கான விண்ணப்பங்கள் கடந்த 9-ம் தேதி முதல் வழங்கப்படுகிறது.  கடந்த 11-ம் தேதி வரை 400 விண்ணப்பங்கள் விற்பனையாகியுள்ளன.

இது குறித்து கல்லூரி முதல்வர் விஸ்வநாதன் கூறுகையில், 

        "விண்ணப்பங்கள் கடந்த 9-ம் தேதி முதல் வரும் 30-ம் தேதி வரை வழங்கப்படுகிறது. பூர்த்தி செய்யப்பட்ட விண்ணப்பங்களை ஜூன் 14-ம் தேதிக்குள் ஒப்படைக்க வேண்டும். விண்ணப்பத்தின் விலை ரூ.27. எஸ்.சி., எஸ்.டி. மாணவர்கள் தங்களின் ஜாதிச் சான்றிதழின் அசல் மற்றும் நகலைக் காண்பித்து ஒரு விண்ணப்பம் மட்டுமே இலவசமாகப் பெறலாம். கூடுதலாக தேவைப்படும் விண்ணப்பத்துக்குப் பணம் செலுத்த வேண்டும். மற்ற வகுப்பினர் விண்ணப்பத்துக்குரிய பணத்தை செலுத்தி பெறலாம்.

      கடந்தாண்டு 6,000 விண்ணப்பங்கள் வரை விற்பனையாயின. இந்தாண்டு முதல் கட்டமாக 5,000 விண்ணப்பம் வரை அச்சிடப்பட்டுள்ளது. கூடுதலாக தேவைப்படும் பட்சத்தில் விண்ணப்பங்கள் அச்சிடப்பட்டு வழங்கப்படும் என்றார்.

Rs.1.42 crore free laptops distributed to Periyar Government Arts College students

The Akilesh Yadav’s Government in Uttar Pradesh has emulated the innovative scheme of Jayalalithaa’s Government of providing free laptops to students, said M.C. Sampath, Environment Minister. He was delivering a speech at a function held in Periyar Government Arts College here to distribute laptops worth Rs. 1.42 crore to 1,040 students on Saturday(13/04/2013) . The Minister said that Chief Minister had launched many welfare schemes that had caught the attention of the entire nation. He called upon the students to put the laptops to the best use. Collector R. Kirlosh Kumar, Principal V.N. Viswanathan participated.

    நமது கல்லூரியில் 18/01/2013, வெள்ளிக்கிழமை அன்று வணிகவியல் துறை சார்பில் வேலை வாய்ப்புகள் குறித்த  வழிகாட்டுதல் நிகழ்ச்சி நடைப்பெற்றது விழாவில் பங்கேற்ற சிறப்பு விருந்தினர் திரு.பாலாஜி அவர்கள் பங்கேற்றார். வணிகவியல் துறை தலைவர் திரு.அறவாழி அவர்கள் வரவேற்பு உரையாற்றினார். இதில் வணிகவியல் துறை மாணவர்கள் அனைவரும் பங்கேற்றனர்.

கடலூர் பெரியார் கலைக் கல்லூரி மூன்றாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர்களுக்கு இலவச மடிக்கணினி வழங்க வலியுறுத்தி சாலை மறியல்

கடலூர்:

          பெரியார் கலைக் கல்லூரி அனைத்துத்துறை மூன்றாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர்களுக்கு இலவச மடிக்கணினி  வழங்க வலியுறுத்தி கடலூர் அரசு கல்லூரி மாணவர்கள் நேற்று கடலூரில் சாலை மறியலில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

      கடலூர் தேவனாம்பட்டினம் அரசு பெரியார் கலைக் கல்லூரில் நாளை (28ம் தேதி) இரண்டாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர்களுக்கு லேப்டாப் வழங்கப்படவுள்ளது. இந்நிலையில்  கல்லூரியில் 3ம் ஆண்டு படித்து வரும் 870 மாணவ, மாணவிகளுக்கு இலவச மடிக்கணினி  வழங்காமல், இரண்டாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர்களுக்கு மட்டும் வழங்குவதற்கான முயற்சிகள் நடந்து வருவதைக் கண்டித்து மூன்றாம் ஆண்டு மாணவர்கள் நேற்று மதியம் வகுப்புகளை புறக்கணித்து, கல்லூரியிருந்து ஊர்வலமாகச் சென்று பாரதி சாலையில் மறியலில் ஈடுபட்டனர்.

           தகவலறிந்த தாசில்தார் எழிலன் மற்றும் கடலூர் புதுநகர் போலீசார் மாணவர்களுடன் பேச்சுவார்தை நடத்தினர்.  பின்னர் மாணவர்களின் பிரதிநிதியான ராமு தலைமையில் மாணவர்கள் கலெக்டர் கிர்லோஷ்குமாரை சந்தித்து, மூன்றாம் ஆண்டு படிக்கும் மாணவர்களுக்கும் லேப்டாப் வழங்க வேண்டும் என மனு கொடுத்துவிட்டு கலைந்து சென்றனர்.
